After hearing great things about this vegan Japanese restaurant in Austin, we decided to give it a try, and our first visit was fantastic. We ordered the Volcano Maki, Japanese Katsu Curry with Vegan Chicken, and Spicy Edamame, and every dish was flavorful and exceeded our expectations. We paired our meal with hot sake and a couple of their signature cocktails, which complemented the food really well. We also ended the meal with the Belgian Chocolate dessert, and it was a delicious finish. Because our first experience was so good, we returned to explore more of the menu. This time, however, the experience was a bit underwhelming. The Yakisoba Noodles were just okay and felt like they could have used more seasoning and flavor. The Chick'n Karaage was also a little bland. The Shiitake Gyoza was enjoyable, but we felt it could be even better with a bit more flavor. Overall, it's still a great place with a creative vegan Japanese menu, excellent drinks, and some standout dishes.

We visited Nori recently twice to check out their all-vegan Japanese menu. It’s a great concept with a nice vibe and friendly service, but the execution was a bit inconsistent. The Highlights (Top Notch): Volcano Roll & Spicy Edamame: Absolutely incredible, definitely the stars of the meal. 🌋 Katsu Curry: Super flavorful—you wouldn't even guess it’s vegan! Cocktails: They serve strong, well-balanced drinks that we really enjoyed. 🍸 Belgian Chocolate cake: A fantastic way to end the meal. 🍫 Room for Improvement (Cons): Shiitake Gyoza: Unfortunately, a miss for us. Only 4 pieces, and they were quite bland with very little flavor. Yakisoba noodles: The portion size was great, but the flavor was just average and it felt a bit heavy. Chicken Karaage: Felt like frozen nuggets taste, not tasty Service Detail: We ordered Sake and had to ask twice to get it served warm—it arrived cold the first time. 🍶 The Verdict: The overall concept and vibe are wonderful, and there are some truly "top-notch" items on the menu. If you stick to the rolls and appetizers, you’ll have a great time!

Our server was Piper and they were amazing!! So sweet and helpful. Food was delicious and I would definitely recommend the chick'n karaage and the creamy paitai ramen. I will definitely be coming back!

5 stars, easy. Nori absolutely delivers for vegan Japanese in Austin. We kicked things off with the $8 Agedashi Tofu, really loved the spicy kick on the $20 Creamy Spicy Tan Tan, and thought the $15 Katana-Ya was a solid portion. We unknowingly rolled in during an Austin Vegan Association meetup, so the staff had a crowd on their hands, but they still got us taken care of without drama. Add in the outdoor seating on a gorgeous day and it was a great lunch all around.

A cute date night spot. Had to be one of the best Vegan Sushi places in Austin. Drinks and food were delish. We ordered Brussel sprouts, spring roll, Volcano Maki, Buddha Maki, Yakisoba Noodles for food. They offer Alcoholic, Nonalcoholic and THC beverages which tasted good. Recommend checking this place out.
